Threadworm (also called pinworm) is a type of roundworm. Anyone can be infected by the threadworm. However, it's common to find worms in kids aged 1-19 years. You can get infected by: touching objects or surfaces with worm eggs on them – if someone with worms does not wash their hands and touching soil or swallowing water or food with worm eggs in it. Signs and symptoms of threadworm - have an itchy bottom, which may become red and inflamed from scratching - be irritable and generally ‘out of sorts’ - cannot sleep well - have a reduced appetite Consult your Doctor to treat and know how to prevent threadworms
